Habitat
Lungwort is an epiphytic lichen that displays a large, leafy appearance, bright green and fleshy during wet seasons, and brown and shriveled during dry seasons.
Lobaria pulmonaria a complex organism created by a symbiosis between members of three kingdoms of organisms: a fungus, and a green algae partner, living together in a symbiotic relationship with a cyanobacterium.
It grows very slowly, on old growth trees, and is highly susceptible to air pollution. Due to old growth forest habitat loss it is becoming rare to find.
Lungwort Lichen cannot be cultivated.
