Helichrysum arenarium is a herbaceous, perennial plant native to sunny, dry, sandy mountainous areas of Mediterranean Europe.
As the name, which comes from the Greek word helios (Sun) and chrysos (Gold), indicates,
the flowers are filled with the beneficial energy of the sunny Mediterranean climate.
The flowers hold medicinal qualities due to the presence of essentials oil, flavonoids, tannins, glycosides and naringenin.
Preparations of the flowers are sold in European pharmacies for their anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammation properties.
