Description
Gentian Root
Gentiana lutea
dried, large cut pieces
harvested from wild stands in managed alpine meadows
of Ardennes Mountains, France
Gentiana lutea is an upper mountain pasture perennial plant, native to the alps of Europe, where it is called Gentianne, Enzian, Genziana, Genciana.
/
Our dried Gentian roots have been harvested for us by a local mountain man, in the Ardennes Mountains in France, from 3 decades old Gentian plants growing in upper meadow fields. He carefully selects, digs up, dries and processes each plant himself, to ensure sustainable longevity of these beautiful natural fields, which he has tended to for over 30 years.
